From November 22 to 24, the 2025 Energy Transition Conference, with the core theme of “accelerating collaborative innovation between enterprises and local governments to jointly seek green transformation and development,” was grandly held in the Energy Valley of Beijing Future Science City. Zhang Yuzhuo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Yin Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, and Wan Jinsong, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration, attended the conference and delivered speeches. Zhonghai Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Zhonghai Energy Storage) was invited to attend the conference as a benchmark enterprise in the energy field to fully showcase its core technological innovation achievements, deeply participate in the construction of the industrial ecosystem, and inject strong momentum into energy transformation.

This conference focused on applied technological innovation and the creation of an industrial ecosystem, building a high-end platform for cutting-edge technology exchanges in the industry. In the technology exchange section, with digital technology innovation in the energy field as the core, a special indoor and outdoor technology achievement display area was set up, with 15 companies making a concentrated appearance to promote horizontal linkage and win-win cooperation among enterprises. The indoor exhibition area was led by five central enterprises: China National Petroleum Corporation, Sinopec, State Energy Group, China Huaneng, and China Huadian, and Zhonghai Energy Storage appeared on stage as a benchmark enterprise in the industry. Zhonghai Energy Storage focused on core technological breakthroughs, showcasing innovative achievements in the collaborative innovation and deep integration of artificial intelligence models and high-quality vertical industry data sets, providing solutions for the green, low-carbon, and intelligent transformation of the energy industry.

During the conference, the "2025 Energy Transition Conference — Special Session on Innovation and Development of Energy Storage Technology Industry-Education Integration" was held. The conference was guided by the Beijing Future Science City Management Committee, co-organized by China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and North China Electric Power University, and co-organized by leading industry companies such as Zhonghai Energy Storage. With the theme of “Industry-Education Integration of New Energy Storage Future,” it brought together more than 300 industry experts, university scholars, and corporate representatives to explore new paths for breakthroughs in energy storage technology and jointly draw a new blueprint for the integrated development of industry and education.

At the meeting, Academician Xu Chunming, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and chief scientist of Zhonghai Energy Storage, gave a detailed introduction to the progress of the national energy storage technology industry-education integration innovation platform and the long-term energy storage of flow batteries. As a co-construction unit of the platform, Zhonghai Energy Storage’s independently developed 500kW iron-chromium flow battery energy storage module and equipment, based on carbon cloth electrodes, was successfully selected into the first (set) of major technical equipment in the energy field by the National Energy Administration. This equipment leads the industry’s technological development direction with its core advantages of high safety, large-scale, low-cost, and long-duration energy storage.
In terms of building an industrial ecosystem, the conference held a signing ceremony for the flow battery ecosystem of China University of Petroleum (Beijing). Zhonghai Energy Storage officially joined the ecological alliance as the "chain leader" enterprise in the iron-chromium flow battery field. In the future, the company will play a leading role, collaborate with leading enterprises to deepen the integration of industry, academia, and research resources, link up with high-quality upstream and downstream companies of flow batteries, and build a collaborative, efficient, and prosperous industrial ecosystem. At the same time, it will strive to promote high-growth enterprises to settle in Changping, injecting strong new quality productivity into the construction of "Changping Energy Valley" and helping the regional energy industry cluster development.

During the roundtable forum at the special session, Wang Xi, General Manager of Zhonghai Energy Storage, and industry guests conducted in-depth discussions on the coordination and ecological construction of the long-term energy storage hydrogen energy industry chain under industry-education integration, sparking ideas and contributing smart solutions to the cross-border integration and sustainable development of the industry, further consolidating the cooperative foundation for the coordinated development of the energy storage industry.

As a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research and development and manufacturing of ferrochrome liquid flow energy storage batteries, Zhonghai Energy Storage focuses on the national “dual carbon” strategy, building a new power system to meet the needs for high-safety, large-scale, and long-life energy storage infrastructure. General Manager Wang Xi said that adhering to its original mission of “supporting the construction of the country’s new power system and safeguarding the achievement of the ‘dual carbon’ goals,” Zhonghai Energy Storage takes this conference as an opportunity to deepen all-round strategic cooperation with industry partners, universities, and research institutes. Relying on its own technological and industrial advantages, the company will continue to make efforts in diversified application scenarios. Currently, Zhonghai Energy Storage is based in the core of its Beijing headquarters base and is facing the domestic market, building a strategic layout of “one core, one north, one middle, and one south.” It already has 33kW-class power reactors and 500kW-class product modules, with an annual production capacity of 1GWh. The company is planning industrial bases in Inner Mongolia, Henan, and Guangdong with a production capacity of 9GWh.
